Tai Kwun Contemporary, Hong Kong’s premier arts and culture center, is celebrating its milestone with an anniversary celebration like no other. The compound invites everyone to “Feel Your Heart Beat” this May with heartfelt programs such as Unfurl.

Unfurl is a visual spectacle that combines nature, art, and technology in a unique garden full of light, color, and sound. The Asian debut of Unfurl will take place from 23 to 31 May and will feature 19 plants, nine of which are massive robots made from fabric and air. These interactive, gentle giants can reach as high as five meters and form a dreamscape where plants can sense visitors and reach out to connect, enabling a joyful experience not to be missed.

The Parade Ground at Tai Kwun will be transformed into this enchanting world, where visitors can celebrate the wonder and intelligence of nature’s design sensibilities, and make space for human connection and play. The event is free of charge and will be open from 2 pm to 10 pm.

Unfurl is the brainchild of Creative Director Emma Powell and promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience that celebrates art, nature, and technology. Tai Kwun Contemporary has been at the forefront of Hong Kong’s arts and culture scene for over half a decade, and this anniversary celebration is a testament to its commitment to bringing unique and meaningful experiences to the city.
